Redefining “brand journalism,” my team and I created a series for the Verizon Newsroom that uses storytelling to humanize a national brand. As a lead on the project, I found the individuals who are using technology to change the world for good, ensured diversity in talent and content, sold the client on each story, conducted virtual interviews with the talent, wrote long-format articles, managed and edited an editorial team when the client asked for more, and coordinated with my art and SEO team to create compelling and strategic pieces.
Learning first-hand from a Ph.D. game designer, a teen climate activist, deaf artists, a queer POC entrepreneur, and an ex-con has made this one of the most impactful and personal projects in my career.
